  • What does an Emergency Medical Responder do?

    Arriving first on the scene of an emergency carries a huge responsibility. Emergency Medical Responders or EMRs assess the scene and prepare the area for the arrival of emergency medical services professionals. This fundamental training also lays the groundwork for students wanting to become an EMT or paramedic. This program is designed for high school students and better prepares them for success as they further their training and education.

    Pursue a solid foundation in the Emergency Medical Services field by starting with 91黑料专区 Tech's EMR program. Curriculum in this program covers our Foundations of Healthcare core. Students learn the basics of health occupations as well as medical terminology and first aid/CPR. Then, in the Emergency Management Responder course, you will train to become the first person responding to an emergency incident. Upon completion, you will eligible to sit for the NREMT and Kansas Emergency Medical Responder Practical and Written Exams.

    Please note: This program is designed for high school students although adult students are eligible to enroll. 91黑料专区 Tech offers a fall start only. Students must be 17 years of age by the start of the program to enroll.

    For dual-credit high school students submission of an application, official partial transcript, and consent to enroll form are required. Adult students must complete an application and submit an official copy of all transcripts. Please see an admissions counselor for details.

    EMR Certification

    Upon completion, you will be prepared to take the NREMT and Kansas Emergency Medical Responder Practical and Written Exams. 

    EMT Certification

    After passing the EMR program, you will be prepared enroll in 91黑料专区 Tech's EMT program.

    Enter the Workforce

    Upon completion of the EMT program, you may enter the workforce or further your education and train to become a parademic or emergency services administrator.
