91��ר�� Tech houses one of the premiere nursing schools in Kansas. Our practical nursing program is designed for post-secondary students. Instruction includes the knowledge, skills, attitudes and abilities needed to practice safely and effectively as an entry-level practical nurse. The program is approved by the . Please read through the application process before applying. You will need to complete the Accuplacer test and the TEAS exam . Attending full-time, you can complete the program in two semesters, while part-time evening students can finish in three semesters and a summer. Upon completion, you will earn a 47-credit-hour technical certificate, and be eligible to take the National Council Licensure Examination for Licensed Practical Nurses. Many options exist for career advancement in nursing including registered nursing at 91��ר�� Tech and other health care fields.

The 91��ר�� 91��ר�� Tech Practical Nursing program is in alignment with the National Center for Education Statistics (NCES) CIP Code 51.3901: Licensed Practical/Vocational Nurse Training. A program that prepares individuals to assist in providing general nursing care under the direction of a registered nurse, physician, or dentist. Includes instruction in taking patient vital signs, applying sterile dressings, patient health education, and assistance with examinations and treatment.

Please note: Many of our clinical partners are requiring students to have the vaccine in order to complete clinical hours. Due to accrediting body and program clinical requirements, 91��ר�� Tech cannot guarantee that requirements for program completion can be met when a student is not vaccinated.

PROGRAM ACCREDITATION

91��ר�� Tech's Practical Nursing program is accredited by the (HLC), an independent corporation that was founded in 1895 as one of six regional institutional accreditors in the United States. HLC is recognized by the US Department of Education and the Council on Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA).

To enroll in this program, you must score a minimum of 5 in math on the Accuplacer test. You also must pass the TEAS test.

Courses in Human Growth & Development, Human Anatomy & Physiology, Nutrition are a required prerequisite to the Practical Nursing program. Check out the course offerings for Spring.

After completing the program, you will sit for the National Council Licensure Examination for Licensed Practical/Vocational Nurses. Upon passing the exam, you will earn the NCLEX-PN certification.

With your NCLEX-PN certification, you'll be prepared to begin working as an Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN).

Or you can pursue further career advancement in nursing with registered nursing at 91��ר�� Tech and other health care fields.
