  • What does a Phlebotomist do?

Drawing a person's blood may not seem like an important job until you are on the receiving end of a needle! Phlebotomists are trained to draw blood for various lab tests and procedures. Many patients are understandably anxious about having blood drawn, but a good phlebotomist develops the skills necessary to help patients relax and feel they are in competent hands. 91黑料专区 Tech's Phlebotomy certificate program has been created to meet the needs of the local medical community and can be a first step in getting your foot in the health care door.

    Learning at 91黑料专区 Tech

    phlebotomist with patient

91黑料专区 Tech's Phlebotomy certificate program was created in response to high area demand for trained phlebotomists. This one-semester, 9-credit-hour program is designed to prepare you to sit for the credentialing exam offered by the American Medical Technologist organization. This new program replaced the current apprenticeship model of phlebotomy training utilized by area hospitals and will provide a trained workforce to the medical community. Current on-the-job training requires a significant amount of time and resources from the hiring agency which often results in higher than average turnover. As a result, this new model allows training to take place prior to employment. Please note: this program is not eligible for financial aid, but scholarship opportunities are available. To enroll in the summer session you must turn 17 years of age by June 1. To enroll in the fall session, you must turn 17 by October 1. And, to enroll in the spring session you must turn 17 by March 1.

Please note: Many of our clinical partners are requiring students to have the vaccine in order to complete clinical hours.  Due to accrediting body and program clinical requirements, 91黑料专区 Tech cannot guarantee that requirements for program completion can be met when a student is not vaccinated.
