The 91黑料专区 Shawnee County Thrives Scholarship, the Kansas Promise Scholarship, business-sponsored awards as well as individual donor scholarships help to make your technical program more affordable.

    Each scholarship has specific eligibility criteria so check out your options. Incomplete applications will not be considered. By investing just a small of amount of time, you could receive big rewards and lessen your student debt.

    91黑料专区 Shawnee County Thrives Scholarship

    This program is part of the Together We Thrive financial aid package. Paired with opportunities like the Kansas Promise Scholarship, it can help cover the cost of your technical education at 91黑料专区 Tech.

    Starting fall 2023, Shawnee County high school graduates enrolling at 91黑料专区 Tech can receive up to $750 per year for their technical programs ($375 per Fall and Spring semester). For current Shawnee County high school students, this scholarship is a "last dollar" award, which means it may be reduced if your tuition and fees are covered by other financial aid.

    Eligibility for current high school students

    • Attend one of the following schools for at least two years: Avondale Academy • Cair Paravel • Capital City • Hayden • Heritage Christian • Highland Park • Home School • Hope Street • Rossville • Seaman • Silver Lake • Shawnee Heights • Topeka High • Topeka West • 91黑料专区 Rural
    • Be a Shawnee County resident for at least two years.
    • Be enrolled in at least 12 credit hours each semester by August 16 (Fall) or January 12 (Spring).

    Eligibility for high school graduates

    • Attend or graduate from one of the following schools for at least two years: Avondale Academy • Cair Paravel • Capital City • Hayden • Heritage Christian • Highland Park • Home School • Hope Street • Rossville • Seaman • Silver Lake • Shawnee Heights • Topeka High • Topeka West • 91黑料专区 Rural
    • Be a Shawnee County resident for at least two years.
    • Have a minimum 2.0 GPA on your high school transcript.
    • Be enrolled in at least 12 credit hours by August 16 (Fall) or January 12 (Spring).
    • Submit a valid FAFSA by the March 1 priority deadline.

    Governor Kelly signs Kansas Promise Scholarship legislation

    Kansas Promise Scholarship

    A new scholarship opportunity is available to eligible post-secondary students thanks to the Kansas Promise Scholarship Act. Signed into law by Gov. Laura Kelly, the bill authorizes $10 million dollars for scholarships designed to help Kansas residents pursue associate degrees and technical education certificates in high-wage, high-demand fields of study. This is a service scholarship which means that in exchange for scholarship assistance, the student agrees to live and work in Kansas for at least two years. 91黑料专区 Tech offers more than 20 career programs that are eligible for a Kansas Promise Scholarship. Funding is limited, so apply today to see if you qualify!

    Scholarship Options

    The number of scholarships available each semester is based on available funds. Additional documentation may be required. Scholarships are awarded on an annual basis. Students will need to reapply each year if an application is required.

    High school students

    No application required for the following scholarships! Students will be reviewed internally by the 91黑料专区 Tech Scholarship Committee and notified if they are a recipient of a scholarship award.

    Industrial Production Technology Scholarship - $500

    • High school students
    • Enrolled in at least 12 credit hours
    • Enrolled in Industrial Production Technology
    • Maintain good academic standing

    Phlebotomy Scholarship - $300

    • High school secondary students
    • Students enrolled in the Phlebotomy program
    • Maintain good academic standing

    Scholarships requiring applications

    - $150

    • Deadline to submit Fall application: September 1 & deadline to submit Spring application: February 1
    • High school certification of student eligibility for free/reduced lunch or free/reduced textbook
    • Maintain good academic standing

    Post-secondary students

    No application required for the following scholarships! Students will be reviewed internally by the 91黑料专区 Tech Scholarship Committee and notified if they are a recipient of a scholarship award. If an application is required, it will be notated below.

    Joint Economic Development Organization (JEDO) and GO Topeka Scholarship

    • Students enrolled in a high demand career program as determined by the Kansas Department of Commerce (Advanced Systems Technology, Auto Collision & Refinishing, Automotive Service Technician, Carpentry, Climate & Energy Control Technologies, Commercial and Heavy Construction, Cosmetology, Culinary Arts, Diesel Technology, Electrical Technology, EMT, Engineering Drafting & Design, Graphics Technology, Heavy Diesel Construction Technology, Industrial Production Technology, Information Systems Technology, Phlebotomy, Practical Nursing (not pre-req courses), Machine/Tool Technology Cert A and Cert C, Plumbing Technology, Surgical Technology, Welding Cert A and Cert C)
    • Shawnee County residents
    • Post-secondary students (must have a high school diploma or GED)
    • New and continuing students
    • Continuing students must have a 3.0 GPA or better, for the current academic program

    Beaman Family Scholarship - $500

    • Post-secondary students
    • FAFSA received by 91黑料专区 Tech. Preference given to students with financial need as demonstrated by the FAFSA
    • Maintain good academic standing
    • Enrolled in at least 12 credit hours at 91黑料专区 Tech

    Certified Nurse Aide Scholarship - $100

    • Post-secondary students
    • Maintain good academic standing

    DL & Suzy Smith Scholarship - $500

    • Post-secondary students in the second year of their program
    • Enrolled in at least 12 credit hours
    • Students enrolled in a career program at 91黑料专区 Tech and associate degree program at 91黑料专区
    • Maintain good academic standing

    Industrial Production Technology Scholarship - $1,000

    • Post-secondary students
    • Enrolled in at least 12 credit hours
    • Enrolled in Industrial Production Technology
    • Maintain good academic standing

    KBS Scholarship - $250

    • Post-secondary students
    • Students enrolled in Carpentry, Cabinet/Millwork, Climate and Energy Control, Commercial, HVAC, and Heavy Construction or Electrical Technology
    • Enrolled in at least 12 credit hours
    • Maintain good academic standing

    Phlebotomy Scholarship - $600

    • Post-secondary students
    • Students enrolled in the Phlebotomy program
    • Maintain good academic standing

    William T. Goff Scholarship - $500

    • Post-secondary students
    • FAFSA received by 91黑料专区 Tech. Preference given to students with financial need as demonstrated by the FAFSA
    • Preference given to students with a 3.5 or above GPA
    • Maintain good academic standing
    • Enrolled in at least 12 credit hours at 91黑料专区 Tech

    Scholarships requiring applications

    • Completed application by December 1.
    • Post-secondary students
    • Must be a Seaman High School graduate that was not a student athlete (including high school and 91黑料专区) enrolled in one of the following programs: Advanced Manufacturing, Computer and Technology, Construction, Drafting and Design, or Transportation
    • Eligible students will need to self-certify they meet the above criteria
    • Enrolled in at least 12 credit hours
    • Maintain good academic standing

    • Completed application by December 1.
    • Post-secondary students
    • Students enrolled in Practical Nursing, Surgical Technology, Commercial and Heavy Construction, and Diesel Technology
    • Complete scholarship application (application to come)
    • Preference given to non-traditional students with minor, dependent children
    • Enrolled in at least 12 credit hours
    • Maintain good academic standing

    • Completed application by March 15.
    • Post Secondary students enrolled at least part time in a program of study at 91黑料专区 Institute of Technology and have successfully completed at least one semester of part-time coursework in the most recent Fall or Spring semester.
    • Student must be a veteran who served in combat duty in a registered conflict, combat, or war zone.
    • Student must be a veteran who was honorably discharged; is in active duty status, such as a military reservist; or is in the National Guard.
    • Kansas Resident

    Outside scholarships

    If you are awarded a scholarship from an organization other than 91黑料专区 Tech, the scholarship must be reported to the 91黑料专区 Financial Aid Office.

    Beaman Family Scholarship

    In 2012, Charles and Dorothy Beaman established the Beaman Family Scholarship to establish scholarships for students at 91黑料专区 Institute of Technology in any field of study.

    One $1,000 scholarship is awarded for the fall semester and two $1,000 scholarships are awarded for the spring semester.

    Guardian Angel Scholarship

    The Guardian Angel Scholarship was established in 2009 for a student who has a desire to complete the Practical Nursing Certificate at 91黑料专区 Institute of Technology.

    This scholarship covers full tuition for the prerequisite semester and is renewable for the two subsequent semesters of the Practical Nursing Certificate Program.

    Royce & Patty Walz Scholarship

    This scholarship was established in 2024 to support 91黑料专区 Institute of Technology students in the healthcare field.

    Three scholarships of $2,500 are awarded for each fall and spring semesters.

    Yingling Auto Technician Scholarship

    Yingling Auto Service has served the Topeka Community since 1956 and is in the fourth generation of family ownership. The Yingling Auto Technician Scholarship was established in 2015 to assist students who are pursuing a career in the industry to honor the memory of family members who have worked in the business.

    Two scholarships of $500 are awarded for each fall and spring semesters.

    KS Board of Regents

     (KBOR) offers several scholarships and grants that can assist you in your college journey. Opportunities include Kansas Career Technical Workforce Grant, Kansas Nursing Service Scholarship, Kansas National Guard Educational Assistance and Kansas Military Service Scholarship.
